Overview

For three decades, Tim Goeglein has served in the highest echelons of United States government and Christian ministries. From those positions, he has obtained a unique perspective on numerous issues that presently confront our nation: the breakdown of marriage and family, the decline of American education, attacks on faith, increased political polarization, and how all of these factors have placed in the current national peril in which we find ourselves. Over the past several years, Tim has been sharing this perspective in numerous media outlets such as The Federalist, Daily Signal, Epoch Times, among others. This book is a compendium of those columns.

Reviews

In a time of deep national concern, Tim Goeglein’s What Really Matters: Restoring a Legacy of Faith, Freedom, and Family delivers both hope and a practical roadmap for renewal. Drawing on years of White House and public service experience, Goeglein shows how America can recover by strengthening marriages and families, nurturing children, honoring human dignity, and restoring faith’s vital role in a well-ordered society. For anyone seeking to help reclaim our founding legacy, this is an essential guide. —Dr. Carol M. Swain, author, speaker, commentator, consultant, and entrepreneur

"Reading Goeglein’s book, I found myself thinking that we need another Great Awakening to restore faith and love between men and women and within families. A bold proposition, maybe, but that is where What Really Matters is pointing." —G. Tracy Mehan III, Modern Age

“In the end, Mr. Goeglein writes as both a concerned father and a hopeful patriot, urging Americans to reconsider the cultural path they have taken.” —J. Thomas Lapacka, The American Spectator

“Tim has written it and almost certainly done a far better job than I would have. And after reading it, I am confident that his is the voice of a prophet to be heeded and not one crying in a wilderness.” —Mark Tapscott, PJ Media

“It deserves a wide and attentive readership—not least among those who still believe that the American story, rightly understood, remains a story worth telling, and a legacy worth restoring.” —Cory Andrews on The University Bookman

“If I were currently pastoring, I would encourage members of my church to read this book and discuss it chapter by chapter, subject by subject, in group discussions and book clubs for both adults and teens.” Richard D. Land, The Christian Post

“Tim’s What Really Matters is a timely and compelling call to reclaim the foundational Judeo-Christian truths that have long sustained both our Nation and our communities. Tim offers thoughtful and principled defenses of faith, family, and freedom—values that are not only under siege but essential to restoring a healthy and flourishing society. Tim does not merely diagnose the current cultural challenges we face but points us toward a better path forward—one rooted in personal responsibility, enduring institutions, and a renewed commitment to truth. I am grateful for Tim’s voice and strongly commend this book to anyone who cares about the America future generations will inherit. Will we once again be One Nation Under God? Tim tells us.” —Troy A. Miller, NRB President & CEO
